LCMS Missionary Webinar: Learn About Life on the Mission Field
St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clarence Center, NY warmly invites our members, friends, and neighbors to participate in a special Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) missionary webinar on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 11:00 AM to noon Eastern Time. Entitled “Missionary Myths: What You Think You Know About Missionaries — and What’s Actually True,” this online gathering provides an opportunity to hear directly from missionaries serving around the world. We are especially delighted that our own Ben Goehring, an LCMS missionary serving in Romania, will be among the presenters.
Missionary service is an important expression of the Church’s calling to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations. Through the work of missionaries, pastors, teachers, and faithful congregations, the Lord continues to bring His Word to people in many lands and circumstances. This webinar offers an opportunity to learn how that work takes place and how Christians at home can support it through prayer, encouragement, and generosity.

Meet Ben Goehring and LCMS Missionaries
Ben and Ella Goehring serve the Lord through LCMS International Mission in Brașov, Romania. Ben teaches English as a Second Language, providing valuable educational opportunities while helping create relationships through which the Gospel may be shared. St. Paul Lutheran Church is their home congregation, making this webinar a particularly meaningful opportunity for our church family in Clarence Center.
During the webinar, a panel of current missionaries will discuss the realities of life on the mission field. Participants will learn about the opportunities, challenges, and unexpected blessings that accompany missionary service. The discussion will also address common misconceptions about missionaries and the many different ways God uses His people in service to the Church.
Faithful Lutheran Mission Around the World
The international mission work of the LCMS is grounded in the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. Christ commands His Church to make disciples of all nations, baptizing and teaching them to observe everything He has commanded (Matthew 28:19–20). The Church therefore sends missionaries not merely to provide humanitarian assistance, but to proclaim Christ crucified and risen, plant Lutheran churches, and support faithful Word and Sacrament ministry.
At St. Paul Lutheran Church, we give thanks that the same Gospel proclaimed in Clarence Center, East Amherst, Williamsville, and greater Buffalo is being proclaimed throughout the world. Supporting missionary service connects local congregations with brothers and sisters in Christ across nations and cultures. It also reminds us that the Church’s mission is always centered on the gifts and promises of our Savior.
